Seriously, first of all, i could see novak starting Dan Nicholson over this guy... "wellllll were going to go with the experienced guy, der der der.." and even if he doesnt, what is he gonna be allowed to do? 3 step drop, throw to the flats to justin anderson or a 7 yard curl route to britt davis or matt simon...i just envision us not using this guy the way hes supposed to be..of course, he might not even want any part of this garbage that is NIU football currently...ugh..

They'll run the option. Anderson, Clanton, and Spann are all good RB's.

We need to recurit some WR's this year.

You guys need to follow football more. Our lines have been dominated the first three games. We are not going to win a lot of games period - including next year. These guys make way way way too many mistakes and when you lose both line battles you will lose the game. The line play is why we aren't able to dominate games - not the skill positions.

They wouldn't switch the offense for Lowe, why do you expect they'll do it for DJ? I'm not trying to say that DJ isn't a lot better than Lowe, don't get me wrong, but this coaching staff has shown before that they refuse to change an offense based on the talent - they want the talent to change to fit the offense.

Folks we will never win what we need to win the Joe Novak way. Not this year, the next, or the next. New leadership is required.

Wha?

Lowe never played a down at NIU. We would have ran some option if he ever played. Some goes with Britt.

Past quotes from Novak made it clear they were not going to center the offensive scheme around a particular player. Running an option play now and then is different than running an option offense.

RE: How much will Demetrius Jones even be able to help?
It will bring NIU more publicity and far better recruits.

Firstly he obviously jumped ship because he did not get on with Charlie Weiss.
Secondly he needs to fit into the team.
NIU is a much beter environment than Notre Dame for him and he should get a chance to show case his rare talent.

While a great QB cannot salvage a program at rockbottom if his leadership skills match his talent, the team will step up and better recruits will come to NIU.

More importantly DJ has a much better chance of graduating from NIU and starting as QB then he would have in ND under Weiss.
If this is true this might be the biggest recruit NIU has landed in a while.
Given the parity in the MAC , injuries can make a huge difference.
IF DJ stays healthy he might possibly give NIU a competitive edge in the MAC.

Agreed. Are you reading this Jim Phillips? We need a new world-class coach, so I don;t have to watch this world-class crap.
