In all seriousness, UTEP will be missed in the WAC. Even though Utah St was never a conference mate with UTEP, UTEP will be missed.

As far as the MeanBean go, they ARE in a horrible conference. I think that I can bash a team that can't beat an even worse team handily. Especially if that team is bashing a conference with 2 teams in preseason top 25 rankings and teams that have been ranked in the top 25 year in and year out in the past. Some people need to be brought back to reality.

Good luck in the CUSA, UTEP. If any team comes out of that conference in flying colors I hope it is the Miners.
Utah St. was in the WAC last year genious? LOL!!! Hmmmmm.. UTEP was in the WAC just this past year..and I don't remember your school playing in the WAC during the last 40 years at all...genious..

Thanks for the good words and good luck to the blue Aggs in the WAC.

Oops. I typed WAC instead of Sun Belt.

I guess I'd better figure out which conference Utah St was in last year.

You know what's wrong with the WAC? That at least half of its members want to leave the conference....that's the whole problem. Karl Benson is part to blame too....but there's not much he can do (like TV deals, bowls, etc) when he has the best schools in the conference dreaming about an invitation to the MWC. I don't think a bowl or TV network wants to risk in investing in a conference that wants to fall apart. It seems to me that the only schools that are happy being in the WAC are Idaho, USU, NMSU and SJSU. Boise, Fresno, Hawaii and Nevada want to go to the MWC...while LaTech wants to go to C-USA. That's one of the reasons UTEP left.....being left behind in the WAC without Nevada, Hawaii, Boise and Fresno would have been devastating to the Miners.

The WAC is fine as it is....the additions of NMSU, USU and Idaho will help the conference....specially in hoops. The WAC has Boise and Fresno as the class of the WAC.....Hawaii, NMSU, Nevada and LaTech as good to average ...SJSU is improving....and USU and Idaho need to improve. In hoops, Nevada, Utah State and Fresno State will rule the WAC...while NMSU and Boise will improve.

Honestly.....who needs the MWC when you have all the potential to make this conference the best nonBCS league in the West. In FB..Boise and Fresno are ranked in most pre season polls...the MWC has one....while in hoops the WAC has 3-4 good teams and the MWC has only two.

BSU isn't looking towards that MWC. That ship sailed.

Same here for LaTech. It's WAC from here on out. C-USA is more of a competitor than an ally now. If there's ever a conference move for us, I'd rather MWC, but even being so far away, I am WAC all the way.

To be honest, Nevada would like to be in the same conference as UNLV due to the natural, in-state rivalry. Nearly all sports would benefit from that (not skiing so much, I guess 03-wink). But aside from that, I'd much rather be in the WAC. My thoughts of being affiliated with any other MWC team range from indifference to disgust.
