Wake's Stadium in WS doesn't hold much more than that.

Just think that App State and ETSU are equivalent schools or at least used to be. I congratulate them on all their successes. We must get football back folks and get back on a par with our peer schools.

Appy State flies into OUR airport and many of their fans watch OUR local TV channels but we are not on their level now.

Upstate will pass us too someday if this lunacy continues. We will be known as the community college formerly known as ETSU.

UpState will find a way to add football, just like Campbell has, and Lipscomb and Mercer will. Meanwhile we'll be working on useless mission statements and having wannabe flower children of the 60's help make decisions for ETSU that affect the entire tri-state region. I wonder how many brochures about campus master plans, athletic advancement and Yosef Club membership plans were given out to the near 29,000 people at the game? I'd also like to know if there's been an increase in season ticket applications.
I guess it would just seem to me that all these new people on campus are also bringing in new money, and I'm sure that new money will also help renovate any academic buildings that need help...

Lover,

Back in the day when we were trying to stop all this madness from happening, what were you thinking when you supported ETSU to a fault. I know you changed your thinking since then, but at one time you were convinced ETSU was on the perfect path.

What were you thinking?

I ask so I can better understand what others around ETSU are thinking now.

I am not answering for lover but I think a lot of people bought into the dream that dropping football would help the school become the next Gonzaga.

You either keep football or move up in basketball.

Neither happened. So no one but a select few are happy.

Put me down in the unhappy column. Worse basketball, no football. App managed to improve basketball while taking football to unheard of heights. Wow.

I'm watching Appy State vs. Michigan on ESPN Classic. The third time I've watched the game. It was on Fox Sports last week.

I was on a flight the other day and a guy came on the plane with an appy state shirt. He was bombarded with responses and good wishes.

Glad for Appy. Sad for us.

Man.

RE: 28,802
I never supported the dropping of football EVER. When this attempt at getting the program restored got underway I said we should give they lying bastards in charge the opportunity to prove that they can indeed learn from their own stupidity, and actually help the university grow. Instead, they made a fool out of all of us who were willing to give them a chance, and believe that they had found some character about them. I never thought we could have Gonzaga/Marquette type program, not in our current situation athletically. We don't have the facilities.
