I think we need to fire our AD Gross, Greg Robinson was his guy. Gross came in to CNY with alot of hype coming from USC. He is a friggen joke as he done more harm then good and he just doesn't understand the NorthEast. Gross will not fire Robinson just to save face

RE: Rank the BIG EAST
Based on just the first 2 weeks. (With no other prejudices and past performances)

1.USF = Man, if the kicker didn't miss those field goals, USF would have easily won and saved me from nearly having a heart attack. You defense was sick in the 2nd half.

2.Cinci = The defense is sick and absolutely made OSU like terrible.

3.WVU = That first half was probably the most under performing half I've seen this year from a big east team. Good thing the second half happened.

4.Rutgers = Probably the most balanced team in the league.

5.UL = They need some defense bad. Hopefully it was just looking past an opponent and they were just off guard. Offense still looks as sick as ever.

6.Uconn = Smacked and shutout a D-AA like they should. First half looked terrible again though.

7.Pitt = Struggled a little bit against am AA team

8.Cuse = Wow I don't even know what to say. They looked terrible 2 weeks in a row. Their offense might be the worst in the country. I'm not sure they could beat Buffalo right now

Here's what I think is gonna happen at the end of the season (With all the prejudices and past performances)

1.WVU
2.UL
3.USF
4.RUT
5.Cinci
6.Uconn
7.Pitt
8.Cuse

8. SU

It's really hard to rank thus far. I think anyone in the top 5 can win the conference. Pitt and UCONN can give all of the top tier teams a game on their home fields. And Syracuse will be lucky to win a game in conference.

This is why they should ban preseason polls. It was Holtz (I think) who said it best, about starting them in mid season instead.

1. USF
2. UC
3. RU
4. WVU
5. UL
6. UConn
7. Pitt
8. SU

RE: Rank the BIG EAST
1. Rutgers (I think they are playing the best overall game right now)
2. WVU - they had a tough one with Marshall in an pressure situation
3. USF - the big win over Auburn propels them ahead of UofL. I don't think what they accomplished can be minimized.
4. UofL - I'm basing this strictly on the strength of their offense.
5. UC - big win over a good PAC-10 team with a top-flight running back - UC is not very far behind any of the top 4 however. This is a tough football league!
6. Pitt and UConn
7. Syracuse

RE: Rank the BIG EAST
1. WVU- I still believe they are the best team in the Conference, and they get U of L at home.

2. Louisville- Still like them a lot...bad performance on defense this week...if it becomes a trend I'll drop them.
3. USF- Right now I'm just following my preseason order...seems fitting. They have the best win this year in the Big East...on the road at Auburn. Hell of a squad.
4. Cincinnati- Love the defense..best in the conference... If the offense catches up look out.
5. Rutgers- Offense looks more balanced than last year. Defense is very good. I am really looking forward to Cincinnati/Rutgers in a few weeks.

2-5 i really think could finish in any order. Those squads are all very tough. I like the way Cincinnati matches up with Rutgers and the fact that Cincinnati gets U of L at home. I think U of L is still the deeper of those teams.

6. Uconn- my first departure from preseason.
7. Pitt

8. Cuse--- a very very very distant 8

RE: Rank the BIG EAST
To polls:

Based on quality wins, my opinion based after only 2 weeks:

1.)South Florida - Should have blown out Auburn if not for kicking
2.)Cincinnati - though UC's was the most impressive
3.)West Virginia - WMU is a MAC contender and Top 25 material
4.)Rutgers - Navy win impressive
5.)Connecticut - Inferior foes but looked good, has a BCS win
6.)Louisville - MTSU is a returning bowl team, Cards can score in bunches, needs defensive help BADLY.
7.)Pittsburgh - quietly 2-0
8.)Syracuse - 03-puke

Based on conference rankings/perception:

1.)West Virginia - legitimate national title contenders
2.)Louisville - Big East title/offense is the only reason they're up here right now.
3.)Rutgers - legit Top 15 team
4a.)South Florida - Legit Top 25 team
4b.)Cincinnati - look at USF
5.)Pittsburgh - ranked ahead of Connecticut only on sheer talent. Michigan State is real test
6.)Connecticut - Shaping into legitimate bowl team
7.)Syracuse - 03-banghead

RE: Rank the BIG EAST
1. The Ville..... Until they're knocked off they are best. They were looking forward to the game against UK, or at least that's what I'm telling myself.
2. WVU..... They start sluggish and finish strong so far this season.
3. USF..... I just laugh thinking about all the excuses SEC fans are making right now. How bout' you got beat by a better team!
4. Rutgers..... Solid!
4a. Cincy..... They look so good right now!
6. Pitt..... Nice start Panthers.
6a. UConn..... Things are better than last year, huh?
I don't think there are any more teams are there?

RE: Rank the BIG EAST
Rutgers - (Scarlet Pride)

West Virginia - Ranked #4.
L' Ville - Defense looked shakey this week but boy can they score.
USF - Auburn victory very impressive.
Cinn - Great win over Oregon St.

Pitt - Wanny has to produce the natives are getting restless and his security blanket just left for Arkansas.

Conn - 2 and 0 - keep up the momentum.

Cuse - Ban Robinson to those ugly apartments up on the South Campus until he gets some production out of that team. With the team in the tank and heading south fast he is half way out of town already then.

RE: Rank the BIG EAST
Hmm still too early for me to assign a true ranking but now the Tiers can be instated:
Tier 1 (no particular order)
Rutgers - Offense looks far better than last year even. Defense not quite as good as last year but likely will get there. Special Teams needs more discipline and better gameplan.
WVU - Offense is incredible. Defense isn't the greatest.
UL - See WVU
Cincy - Defense looks to be Top 5 Nationally. Special Teams solid. Offense improved over last year should be a ranked team.
USF - Defense looks incredible. Special Teams needs some work. Offense improved even over last year. Absolutely criminal and immoral that they aren't ranked this week.

Tier 2
UConn - Can give anyone a game with the new QB and the more experienced Offense.
Pitt - Wanny needs to learn how to develop all this talent but they look pretty good out there.

Tier 3
Cuse - Gonna be a long season until they fire Robinson and perhaps even Gross.
