NTR - Italian tenor Pavarotti dies at age 71
Prayers For His Family. The article is too long to paste, there's the link below.

By ALESSANDRA RIZZO, Associated Press Writer

ROME - Luciano Pavarotti, whose vibrant high C's and ebullient showmanship made him the most beloved and celebrated tenor since Caruso and one of the few opera singers to win crossover fame as a popular superstar, died Thursday. He was 71.

i didn't read the article, but i read the other day that he had stomach cancer and remained in the hospital for now. i instantly sensed that he would be gone within days. it was obviously pancreatic cancer that takes you within weeks and can't be stopped. i recently lost a close friend to that. it happens so fast that it is horrifying. he left a nice legacy.

A former co-worker of mine in Memphis once made his living singing opera in Germany. He sang on stage several times w/ Pavarotti. He claimed the guy had more lady friends than you could count. Opera groupies??

I heard it this morning while listenting to the radio making breakfast and I had to stop pause for a moment. I've loved opera since I was a kid and Pavarotti is a legend. He will be missed.

I used to play his Christmas LPs as a high school student in the late 70s...his rendition of Ave Maria still sends chills up and down my spine!
