Boise State played LOTS of freshmen last night....why?....because they are Daaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmm good. That's why!

Check out how some of these Boise State freshmen did last night:

1. Ryan Winterswyk - RS Freshman - He STARTED last night at DE for Boise State in place of injured Mike T. Williams and all he did was lead Boise State in tackles last night.

2. Jeremy Avery - RS Freshman - He was Ian Johnson's backup at tailback last night and he gained over 100 yards. And his very first collegiate rushing attempt went for FIFTY YARDS!! And Avery AVERAGED 10.5 yards/carry (better than Ian Johnson did). Avery also caught a pass for another seven yards.

3. D.J. Harper - TRUE Freshman - He was the 3rd string taiback last night and he carried the ball eight times for 42 yards (5.3 yards/carry) and he scored a touchdown on his very first collegiate rushing attempt (10 yard TD run).

4. Titus Young -TRUE Freshman - He was a 2nd string WR last night for Boise State and he also scored a touchdown on his very first carry for Boise State. He had one reception last night for FIFTY-THREE YARDS and a touchdown. He also ran the ball twice on fly sweeps and gained another 33 yards on those two runs.

5. Kyle Brotzman - RS Freshman - The starting kickoffs kicker and plackicker for Boise State this season. He went 6 for 6 on PAT's and he had booming kickoffs one of which went 6 yards deep into the end zone. In the past that would be no big deal....but you have to remember that the NCAA moved the kickoffs back another five yards to the 30 yard line this year. So that kickoff of his traveled 76 yards in the air.

6. Tommy Gallarda - RS Freshman - As a tight end he played in his very first collegiate game and had two receptions for 14 yards.

7. Austin Pettis - TRUE Freshman - He was a 2nd string WR last night and he also had two receptions for 11 yards.

These are just SOME of the performances that were turned in last night by the FRESHMEN of Boise State.04-bow04-bow04-bow04-bow

Peanut and Titus are monster playmakers. Those two can change direction like no one Boise State has ever had.

It was only Weber State, but that game got me pretty excited. I'm looking forward to Washington to see if they are as good as they seem.
