ACC and PAC 10 dominate
The ACC and the PAC 10 conferences dominated the top ten of the Learfield Sports Drectors Cup.
In the final standings for the 2009-10 year, the ACC placed 4 teams in the top ten: #3 UVa, #5 Florida State, #7 Carolina, and #10 Dook. The PAC 10 placed three teams in the top ten: #1 Stanford, #4 UCLA and #9 Cal.
The other top ten teams were #2 Florida, #8 Ohio State, and #6 Texas A&M.
It was the 15th time that UNC had placed in the top ten of the 17 year competition. Carolina is the only team other than Stanford to win the cup. Carolina's only win came in the very first year of competition when the award was known as the Sears Cup. Stanford has won the past 16 championships in a row.04-bow
