RE: USF: Back to the Papa-John's bowl ...
I would like CUSA to continue to have the opportunity to play BE in a bowl....I would take BE out of Papajohns and move BE to GMAC Mobile Bowl. Move MAC out of Mobile to Birmingham Bowl. The Mobile Bowl is played after Xmas and would provide a more competitive CUSA opponent. I have never been to either Birmingham or Mobile so I don't know ins and outs of either city.

I edited this post to add the following:
It appears to me that the Houston Bowl does not work well for Big East. I am guessing BE will pull out of Houston Bowl and put that team either in the new BE Tampa/St. Pete Bowl or do a deal elsewhere closer to home.

IMO, it would be better for CUSA confernece to move Birmingham Bowl to UCF's new stadium in Orlando.

I do not like the Mobile Bowl and the International Bowl being played in January. They are two very minor bowls that were moved because ESPN wants TV programming the weekend before the BCS Title Game. It is very artificial and they do not belong there.

More fans would be able to travel to those two bowls if they are played over the holidays. ESPN, by trying to make everything a TV event, is going to kill those two bowls at the gate. They should move the FCS Championship Game to that weekend instead.

Yeah whatever. I guess you didn't catch the Texas game that we nearly pulled out. WVU is probably the only team in the Big East better than Texas.

2nd Point - We already have attendance higher than 75% of the Big East. Next!

After watching Texas play, they would be at best a middle of the pack BE team this year. The name in front of the jersey says Texas does not mean they are automatically good. In fact, they are overrated and don't deserve their ranking.

I wonder if he is really a UCF fan. Lately the fake UCF fans are out of the woodwork.

The good folks of Mobile have been very supporting attendance wise of their bowl, whatever date it is played. The January date was supposed to provide a boost to the bowl but, IMO, that didn't happen. In fact, I think tv ratings slipped a wee bit.

But preXmas bowls make it very, very difficult for fans to travel to the bowl game just a few short days before Xmas. I would rather play Januanry than before Xmas.

Nearly does not count in college football - the only thing that counts is actually winning - and Texas is not that good this year anyway. They almost lost to Nebraska yesterday.

UCF lost to Texas by a score of 35-32 and UCF lost to USF by a score of 64-12 yet a Golden Knights fan has the nerve to say WVU is the only Big East team better than Texas.

Some people need to learn to quit when they are already behind. Plenty of Big East posters are starting to get seriously fed up with the thread hijacking taking place here today.

We will see towards the end of the season. I know they have a bunch of NFL players that will be drafted this year.

False posters have plagued the MWC board. But, after a while, one can figure out the game being played.

S. Fla is clearly a different team on the road. To be a great team you need to win on the road. Week to week you have to give the nod to Texas over S. Fla. I admit that S. Fla is a good team, but I can't agree that over the season they are better than Texas.

The last three road games for S. Fla gives them a record of 1-2 and almost a loss to FAU.

Tallgrass, I think the Mobile Bowl and International Bowl should be played during the holidays, not before. ESPN has enough channels to fit all of the bowls they have into that week. They are doing everyone a disservice by stretching the bowls out too long.

If they really want games on TV the weekend before the BCS Title Game then they should just move the FCS Championship Game and maybe a Lower Division All-Star Game into those spots. Traveling fan attendance is not as important for those contests.
