Ya Think This Writer Wants A Mulligan?
Mainly of interest to Cuse and Marquette fans--but a nice read for any College BB fans. (Topic stolen from the Cuse Scout Board)

No big deal on his part as most people, myself included, didn't think Cuse could pull it out. Who knew that the Orange would shoot better than 50% from behind the 3-point line en route to 50+ points in the first half? Kansas, meanwhile, tanked from both lines, 3-point and free throw. Cuse certainly deserved the title but going into the game that night I penciled Kansas as the better overall team. They certainly had some quality experienced players and I was envisioning a repeat of the finals against Indiana, a real struggle on the perimeter that would end up costing the Orange. Didn't happen that way.
Still took a great block at the end to save the win. Whew!
I hope Jimmy B isn't waiting for another 'Melo to take his team to the promised land. I'm still waiting for him to build a complete team or land more players who'll stay the 3rd or 4th years.

MU was tanked. It was obvious to anyone who watched them take Kentucky down that they weren't the same team against Kansas. D Wade has made something of himself since then. The game aginst UK was his coming out party. One of the more dominant single player performances in the NCAAs that I can recall.

Assuming no defections/injuries--the Cuse will be a Final Four caliber team in 2008-09.
