DLP vs Plasma vs LCD
I need some advice. We are about to purchasea large screen TV, 48+ inch screen. What are the advantages and disadvantages of these three technologies? We are planning to mount it on the wall, if that makes a difference.

LCD you are going to get a clearer picture than plasma i just bought a SOny 40" LCD HDTV pretty good quality picture on HD channels...regular channels are gonna be a little pixelated but from what i have read that is normal for such a big screen HDTV. direct TV is adding 100 or so HD channels this fall so it is worth it to me...as for other cable/satelite companies i dont know if they are adding channels or not...but overall i would pick LCD

I don't think you can mount a DLP on the wall.
Look up HDTV and there are numerous websites that rate the various units and explain all the technology.
I bought a rear projection 72" 1080p (of course you really can only get 1080i/720p programming) just before the NCAA's for the same price as a 48" LCD/Plasma.

This is true if you are talking about television programming. With HD DVD and Blu Ray you can get true 1080P. You can also get 1080P from a computer.

You cannot mount a DLP on the wall. They are typically bulkier than LCD and Plasmas, but have a lower price. I have a 42' Sony DLP and love it. It was a good bang for the buck.
