I know this one will get moved but did anyone see the game this guy had today? What a great story his life has become. The hitting in Memphis and what he has done so far in SL is great but did you see the over the shoulder catch he had deep today?

RE: NTR-Rick Ankiel
he was absolutely incredible today. i teared up a little bit watching him play today. hes had a tough go of it the last 7 years, but he never gave up. its a lesson that everyone could use.

obviously, he wont stay this hot....but if he can stay productive and provide pujols some protection in the lineup, the cardinals might just pull out this division. also, the cardinal pitching staff is really coming together. it would be nice to have mulder and carpenter, but wainwright, pinero, and looper have really stepped it up over the last 10 days.

If game 1 for him was great (which is was!) I don't even know how to describe how awesome watching him today was!

Even if it all ended tomorrow for him, it was worth all the time and money the Cardinals gave him for him to find where he should be.

They Cardinals aren't perfect, but they are a class organization.

yes, they are. they've proven it time and again,

The reception the SL crowd has given him was fun to watch and Tony Larussa is got to be loving this. I like this comment from Derek Lowe-

""You know St. Louis is in a pennant race -- they're not just calling this kid up for a feel-good story," Dodgers pitcher Derek Lowe said. "I'm amazed at what he could do. I know I couldn't stop pitching and become a major league hitter. To be able to do what he is doing is a phenomenal story."

I understand the point about Ozzie and while I do remember Flood, refresh me on what happened there.

should i list the ones that now own a budweiser distributorship, or the ones still on the payroll? i loved curt flood, but blame baseball for that, not the cardinals. actually, don't blame anyone. applaud curt flood.

he refused to be traded to philly and paved the way to free agency.

The Cardinals let Ozzie Smith hang on 3 years too long.
He should thank them, instead he's a bitter pill.

oh i completely agree with you....i was just saying that there were/are hard feelings between those two and the organization. ozzie and larussa need to end their lovers quarrel. its just silly. curt flood=huge balls. he should've got a portion of every major league paycheck from the early 70s till his death in 97

that's the sad thing. flood was a martyr. he never saw a penny for his actions.
