OT: Most Popular Male Athlete is...
Tiger Woods? O please, how much of an athlete does one need to be to golf?

Quote:For the first time in 13 years, Michael Jordan is not the fan's favorite male athlete.

An online poll conducted annually by Harris Interactive determined that Tiger Woods is the most popular male, knocking Jordan out of the top spot for the first time since the survey was introduced in 1993. Over 2,000 people voted this year.

Rounding out the top 10 were Brett Favre, Derek Jeter, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Jeff Gordon and Barry Bonds.

Wow! If this is the list of the top ten, then where have all our heros gone? A has been quarterback. Race car drivers. Golfers. Steroid abusers. Accused rapists. A hulking center that charges every time he gets in the lane (but the NBA refs don't have the yarbles to call the fouls). LeBron is the only one I would even remotely think could be a highly respected and admired athelete, but he is still young and has a long way to go before he could ever gain Jordan's stature...

Bonds is only popular in the bay area and between his ears...

I consider golf and NASCAR sports as well.

If it were up to me, Shaq would be #1 on that list. He plays great (go work on you free throws!) and has a fantastic personality...

Kobe and Bonds would definitely be removed.

"A has been quarterback"

WTF?? Do you know ANYTHING about Football? Green Bay's only losing season prior to last year was 1991. This past season they were devasted with injuries....

A "has been quarterback"....Name another qb who has started over 230 regular season games (this isn't including playoffs) had has had only 1 losing season during his 15 year career?

Get a life. Or better yet, stick to basketball.

Loser.

BTW...that "has been quarterback" is a shoe in for the Hall of Fame.

Who pissed in your Wheaties?

I didn't say he wasn't great in his day. I didn't say I didn't admire and respect him. But his better days are past him. He is no longer anywhere near the player he once was, and he will never be again. Period. Get over it.

And I probably know one hell of a lot more about football than you do. And I do have a life. Do you? Or do you just randomly go to forums and *****?

Favre is easily still a Top 10 QB in the NFL...even at the young age of 36! Any fan who knows anything about Football knows that Favre isn't a "has been quarterback".

Favre can still make throws most qb's could only dream of! To say he is a "Has been QB" is down right funny....

Snart...name me another qb that has started over 230 CONSECUTIVE games??

Favre still has one of the best arms in the league. But nevermind, he is a "has been quarterback" 01-wingedeagle 01-wingedeagle

Right now I would put him about number 12 in the NFL. If he played with a better team, his weaknesses such as his lack of mobility and his pension for making too many risky passes wouldn't be exposed. But in my opinion, at this point of his career, number 12 is where I would rate him. And FYI, my ratings are:

Brady
Manning
Palmer
Roethlisberger - whoops, after today you might scratch him from the list
Vick
McNabb
Bulger
Bledsoe
Green
Brunell
Hasselbeck
Favre

And your the one, '1125', that stirred the pot to start a fight, so don't give me that "I hope you didn't scare him off" crap...

Catswin has had a tough day. Being such a die hard Steeler fan and possibly seeing their season pissed away has to be a b i t c h (you know, a biscuit eater). Riding without a helmet feels so good, but you are asking for trouble by doing so. I wish him the best, though. And anyway, I was kind of hoping that the Bengals would be the ones to knock those teeth out next year rather than the pavement...
