Starting lineup
Heres what I think will be the lineup assuming Cartier takes care of buisness and we get Evans:

G: Young
G: Wright
F: Martin
F: Hoskins
C: Bennett

With Evans, Stewart, Colon, and Harris coming off the bench this looks to be a solid squad that I think can win 25 games. I also expect alot of pressing with that smallet lineup and Bennett in the back controlling the paint to set up the fast break like Corie Blount did in 92-93 when UC had a great pressing team.

I caught some of them on espnU, but not enough to make any kind of judgement. That prediction is just based on looking at stats and hearing other peoples opinions on the players. I cant think of who else would play C since Williams couldnt qualify. I think Young would be the better option at point because of his speed and Huggs said he wants to play fast.

i agree, huggs will press more if he has an enforcer down low (Bennett). Evans would be the 6th man and probably start by the end of the season.

Let me first confess that I have never seen KSU play even one basketball game. Never...

That said, here is an expert and informed response to the question: "Who composes the starting line-up". And let me make that 'line-ups', because Huggs has favored at least two distinct type line-ups, and sometimes even three, and those would be for different game purposes. Like his favorite, the 'defensive stopper' line-up, or the 'get some %$#! rebounds' line-up, or the 'let's run them into the ground' line-up. Anyway, I'm going to put them into just a couple - a short, quick line-up, and a big, intimidating line-up.

Small and fast:

Stewart
Young
Hoskins
Harris
Martin

Tall and intimidating:

Young
Hoskins
Martin
Colon
Bennett

And as bonus I'll give you the starting line-up for the first game:

Stewart
Harris
Hoskins
Martin
Bennett

Is it October yet? I can't wait...

I doubt it but Bennett is one of his guys so he may give him a little more advantage. But I still dont think he will start him from game one on. He may start half way through however.

Guys, I don't think you realize how dire the situation is. Without Jason and Luis we have no post play. There is nobody to start at center. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. 03-no

The big difference is that at Cincinnati, Huggins had great talent to begin each season (for the most part). Everyone knows that in order to play for Huggins, you MUST play defense.

That is exactly the type of players he's getting in Bennett and Colon. Two guys that know how to make an impact blocking shots, rebounding, and being physical on-ball defenders.

Same applies to Evans (if cleared), who is considered a terrific defensive player by recruiting analysts.

Exactly, Im not too sure who else would start. Hopefully Hughes and Colon can give Bennett some competition for the starting spot.

I think Bennett will start from the beginning. Hughes is a play 10 min/5 fouls kind of guy. He does try to bust his butt, but he is usually out of position when the ball comes at him. He doesn't give up, but he can't stay out of foul trouble. He will make a good block or two, then a couple of silly fouls away from the ball.
