Pitt, I don't agree with you all that much, but I am on board with you on this one.

That being said the Kappa Sig's did a good job being supportive of the team and not their self serving crap... They just need to learn to spell Murry.

They were probably too drunk to spell it right.

Not necessarily but let's be honest, little Linepansy doesn't always pride himself on accuracy!

RE: Pirate Club name dropped
Buc2002,

There's something I've been wanting to ask you, but didn't want to start a new thread to do so. And first of all, don't take this as an attack or bait for an attack, but as a serious question hoping for a level-headed response. But, how do most "neutral" people in the athletic department feel about the new direction of ETSU sports? And with that, I mean the direction of cutting football and increasing the funding (above that of other similar schools) for other sports. I think it's pretty common knowledge on here that ETSU spends significantly more money than other SoCon, ASun, or even SEC schools in many of their "olympic" sports. Of course, the people and coaches on those respective teams are probably going to love the new direction ETSU is heading in. I'm mainly asking about general employees in the athletic department and people who still donate to the program. The reason is, I get the general feeling that there's a cloud hanging over this administration, and it permeates about everything they do. Many of the press releases seem to be taking a defensive stance and often try to justify past decisions. I may be wrong, but that's the general feeling I get anytime I read something that doesn't have to do with a specific "match" or game on etsubucs.com. What's your honest feeling about that?

It depends on what you think of as "neutral."

But your analysis is incredibly accurate.

It's my observation the underlings are generally going with the flow. The one that spoke out against these decisions is now in Chattanooga.

Here's what I think ... and then I'll shut up for the day.

I run into quite a few ETSU alumni in Knoxville. Without tipping my hand, I've asked several of them how they felt about the loss of football. Without any exception, everyone I've asked thought it was as foolish a move as the administration could have made.

I agree. So do you. Except 2002, of course. Who needs alumni support anyway? Hey, how bout them Vols?

I know that when you have an opinion, you attract others who have the same opinion.

However, I cannot recall any sports issue ANYWHERE in which the public's disatisfaction is not reported on.

On behalf of the local media...I believe it to be a comfort zone that is completely void of passion for their jobs.
