OT: World Cup
So the the World Cup starts in a few days. I heard a number around 1Billion people will watch the World Cup on TV this year. That is a pretty crazy number considering it is about 1/6th of the world's population. So what are your picks to move on?

I think Brazil is an easy favorite but Germany has a very nice team also with home field advantage. The US has a top 5 team in the World but plays in a hard Group so it is possible they might not get out of the first round. So what does everyone else think?

Because they take their soccer WAY too serious in Brittan (as also do most of Europe). There have been a number of incidents that I can remember where British soccer fans have literally put people in the hospital from fights -- sometimes even fans for their own teams! That isn't an indictment on the English, though, they are generally very polite and proper people, except when soccer comes into the equation! Have you ever heard of Americans rioting during and after a football game and putting folks in the hospital? There are some NBA players that will chase fans into the stands, however, and then beat the crap out of them...

IF they get out of the first round. Czech Republic and Italy is a tough draw. We need a tie with the Czech, win against Italy and Ghana. But I am nervous with playing the second ranked team in teh world our first game.
