After all the discussion of who the WAC should add if and when the need arises, I just hope it's never UVSC!
Quote:
"When we were a junior college; we led the nation in attendance (in men's basketball)," said Jacobsen. "That's because we were playing schools around us."
The attendance number, approximately
3,500 per game, may not sound like much compared to 15,000 to 20,000 for some Division I basketball programs, but Jacobsen said that UVSC did better than any of its peers."
At least for now it looks like we're safe:
Quote: "UVSC even called on the WAC as an option for baseball and softball. "They told us they are not in a position to have affiliate membership right now," said Jacobsen. WAC assistant commissioner David Chaffin echoed Jacobsen's remarks. "We are satisfied with the makeup of our sports teams," said Chaffin."

AND no football. No plans to get a budget, no plans for any stadium, no plans to even play D-1A. I know this looks like there's no way this should ever be brought up as a possibility. But UVSC's name has been mentioned by the WAC office in the past and frankly that scares the crap out of me!
