Seriously, how old are you? Also, have you ever been to an Islamic country?
Your question is irrelevant. Islam is a religion, not a state.
Try and prove otherwise in a US court of law. Go ahead. Try it.

Go ask f'n Iran what they think of a US Court of Law. You're in over your head on this one. In Islamic countries, Islam IS the government. It IS the law. It IS the state.

Please enlighten us, would you point out the state of Islam on a map?

Is it too damn hard for you to understand that in Islamic states Islam is the law, Islam is the state, and Islam is the government? If so, go back to f'n school. In a truly Islamic state, Islam rules all.

So, if you aren't a citizen, then you're not an American, correct?

Figures. The concept is too tough for you to grasp. A true sign of ignorance, thinking your immediate surroundings are how everything actually is. There are a lot of things in the ME you wouldn't be able to grasp. I would say it's not your fault, but your own laziness, and refusal to research anything that proves you wrong, makes it your fault.

UAE and Saudi Arabia are both Islamic states. Are they the same thing?

UAE doesn't rule strictly using Islam. I'm talking about a truly Islamic state. Iran. SA. Syria. Afghanistan(before).

I'm still waiting for you to point out the state of Islam on a map. If you claim Islam is a state then you should be able to point out the geographic boundaries on a map.
Unless it is not a state. In which case, you won't find it on a map.

You guys have a complete and total disconnect on what strict Islam actually is. Am I saying there is a state or country called Islam? NO. However, in strict Islamic countries, Islam IS the country. It's the religion, the government, and in many cases, the economy. I would expect this out of that uneducated moonbat Greg, but not you, Soph.
BTW, I have been responding to this all day:
rebelkev Wrote: Islam WAS the government in Afghanistan, where Al-Qaeda, who he swore his allegiance, was based. You seem to be trying awfully hard to come to the aid of someone that would cut off your f'n head.
the other Greg Childers Wrote: Islam is a religion, not a state.
So, as you'll notice, I never initially stated Islam was a state, as the resident moonbat claimed. However, his idiotic ass wants to get on an argument in semantics, well hell, I'm always game. 'SPECIALLY for some idiot that's never left the states when I've been to the ME a few times.

Meh. I'm just arguing for the sake of arguing in this thread. I figure you would have gotten that from my first post on this thread wherein I "stirred the pot"...

You claimed that Padilla could lose his citizenship by taking an oath, affirmation or other formal declaration to a foreign state. You also claimed that Islam was the government. By inference, you claim that Islam is the state.
Declaring yourself Islamic does not deny you the right of citizenship in the United States.

bull****. Go back and re-read. It is you with the reading comprehension problem.

Read the f'n clause again:
Quote:
(2) taking an oath, affirmation or other formal declaration to a foreign state or its political subdivisions (Sec. 349 (a) (2) INA);
Islam WAS the government of Afghanistan. Fanatical Muslims believe Islam is the basis for government and that it, and the teachings instilled, should rule over all.

Islam is not a state, nor is it a political subdivision. It is a religion.
Padilla cannot lose his citizenship by being Islamic.
You are very bad at this.

I'm bad at this? Not only do you have reading comprehension problems, you also have intelligence issues. Your lack of understanding the issues is no one's fault but your own. Get out of the country and go visit Iran. Then come back and tell me how they run their country. Shar'ia is Islam rule over an entire society.

Other than what you've heard on the teevee, you have absolutely no idea what Shar'ia is, do you? Damn sure doesn't seem like it.
