RE: WAC Expansion
If you ask the people that go to Cal Poly and UC Davis on the AGS board they will tell you that UCD is the one that will go to I-A and not Cal Poly.

As a Fresno St. guy I wouldn't mind seeing both of them in the WAC if Boise St. left but CP is not going I-A from what all the I-AA's say on that board.

We get UC Davis & Sacramento St. games on our local Comcast sports in Fresno already. I enjoy watching UCD but Sac St. sucks and we don't need them.

I think some people get enamored by Sac St's potential and fail to see what they are.

Sac St has pretty much been stagnant for the last 30 years. They have a long history of putting nothing into their athletic program. If they got new leadership and that changed then they might be an option, but assuming they will change when everything tells you they won't is a mistake.

Progressive AD's are needed. UCD fits that bill. Sac St doesn't.

That's changing, but only time will tell how far they get. link: Spanos Sports Complex

They've raised something like $26M in private funding, and have broken ground on a new $11M fieldhouse. Construction of a "Recreation and Wellness Center" will follow (funded in part by student fees). A 6,000-8,000 seat arena was originally planned as part of the Rec Center project, but unfortunately had to be separated. A stand-alone arena and upgrades to Hornet Stadium are planned, but currently unfunded.

Sac St would be a terrible addition right now. I'm cautiously optimistic that could change, but it's years away.
