There are a few schools that don't want Campbell in, but I would think that they get in

RE: PFL Meeting June 13
All PFL schools should welcome another of the "non-scholly" species.

As I (and others) have said before, bring in Campbell and the remaining MAAC and split into divisons....

EAST - Jacksonville, Davidson, Campbell, Iona, Marist, LaSalle
WEST - Morehead, Valpo, Butler, Dayton, Drake, San Diego

Then, bring in Lipscomb, Evansville, and Detroit Mercy and others if/when they start-up.

No more football at St. Peter's. Too bad...I'll never witness the Camels and Peacocks play.

The issue some schools are having is with Campbell's budget being larger than theirs

I was hoping that was the issue! I'm impressed with everything I've seen so far (stadium plans, coaching hires, etc).

I'm a bit skeptical on the budget thing.... The PFL has a wide range of budgets currently, from USD to Jacksonville. I would have to think that Campbell would fall in that range. If not, are you saying that Campbell's budget is greater than any PFL team? Here is some information I looked up a while back:

Some interesting information concerning football funding in the PFL:

Reporting period: 7/1/05 to 6/30/06

San Diego: $912,746
Dayton: $729,761
Davidson: $712,458
Morehead State: $692,374
Valparaiso: $560,138
Drake: $554,791
Butler: $427,607
Jacksonville: $396,125

I have not closely tracked these numbers from reporting period to reporting period, but at least a few things stands out to me…. In the last reporting period, Dayton spent $940,000 or so… Now we spend $729,761. A huge drop in funding. So, 9-1 when we spent about $940K and 4-6 when we spend about $730K…. Very interesting…. It is also interesting that USD is now the most highly funded PFL team, similar to where Dayton used to be historically…. It also seems very odd to me that JU is the worst funded team in the PFL, with sub-par facilities, and yet they fire the coach because he is the problem….

The numbers above are "expenses" for football as reported on the following website:

http://ope.ed.gov/athletics/Search.asp

Any idea where Campbell would stack up relataive to these numbers?

I just do not see who would be overly concerned with Campbell's budget in the PFL. If you know and do not wish to say on the public forum, PM me and I will keep it confidential if you desire.

Hey familiar names in here. I hear you Campbell guys are just using non-scholly as a stepping stone and that you plan on getting them soon so you can join the Big South. Is this true?

There are talks about that once the program becomes self-sustaining
