So, once again, are you to say that Duke, the winners of how many games in football in the last three to four years, have football tradition... not by your own fans recollection. Oh, but it is different when it is your team, darn, I keep forgetting these things. Thanks for getting me straight on this one. BTW, Maryland did win the national title in football in 1953 and were runner-up in 1952, even though they beat the declared national champs, Tennesee. The stipulation there was that the champion was determined before the bowl games. The Terps beat the Vols in a bowl game that year.

A lot of people don't know this, but the 1941 Rose Bowl game was played in Durham because of the war.

I love tradition and dont knock other team's fans talking about their traditon. I am just saying that Duke DOES have football TRADITION. not that it is very recent but we won the ACC in 89 which is recent.

Duke has won NCAA National Championships in Men's Basketball, women's soccor, women's tennis, boxing, is competive every year in men and women golf.

Duke does have tradition in other sports besides basketball.

Why do we continuously argue over who has the strongest tradition in this or that. Tradition is based on consistency. And I dare any of you on this board to give me 1 ACC team(and support it) that has a strong tradition in any sport outside of basketball
