Looks like it's not just "lack of tallent" there like everyone said! Who didn't know this was going on, this is the reason Forte left! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" />

There are millions of other reasons he left.

I'm sorry, I just didn't see that as a very negative article. If anything, it looks like things are taking turns for the better. We knew that this kind of internal struggle was going on behind-the-scenes all year long, and now we're finding out about it (officially, I mean) as the the players and coach are starting to patch things up. The communication seems to be a lot better between both sides.
I was really encouraged by Manuel's comments about how he maybe needed to go look in the mirror -- that maybe a lot of the blame lay with the players. Sounds to me like both parties were blaming each other before, and now they realize that they have some part in it too.

Forte admitted on goheels.com about a month ago the main reason he left UNC. The reason he went to the NBA was the money, but the reason he left UNC was that he didn't want to recieve the blame for the team's downfall the next year. He said when the team lost in 2001 the blame fell on his shoulders. He didn't want to deal with that anymore. It's pretty cowardly in my opinion.

Maybe DOH should have come down with a mysterious back ailment!

What qualifications does Doh have to be the coach for a program like UNC?

He was the 6th choice. He went through the Carolina system as a player. Was an assistant for Roy at Kansas. Coached ND to the NIT Championship game. No one else wanted the job. It's hard to believe no one else would want to coach at a program like UNC, but it's a pressure packed job. There's a microscope over the UNC bball program. I mean if other teams have transfers there isn't much hoopla about it. But when Boone transfered it was on the big stories of the day on all the major websites like espn.com and cbsportsline.com. He may not have been qualified, but everyone in front of him turned it down. I heard Dean wanted to interview Majerus but the AD went ahead and hired Doherty w/o consulting Dean.
