First the program was almost ended this decade. Then Katrina struck the New Orleans area. Meanwhile Wave football struggles in good times to put fans in the seats. Given the situation as it exists, which will certainly include more losing seasons, can the program survive at the 1A level? Should the program drop down to division III and just compete with Milsaps, etc....Sure seems the logical answer...

i have to totaly disagree....

Tulane has shown it can compete at the highest levels of NCAA play.

Tulane has a C-USA football champ, Liberty Bowl win, and a top 10 finish.

Tulane also has a C-USA baseball champ, and a college world series appearance.

Memphis and Tulane have had some great basketball games...Tulane was ranked for several of those.

Katrina delt all of New Orleans a blow...but Tulane is coming right along.

the Super Dome got major up-grades...

their Baseball stadium is all-most ready to re-open... (and it looks very nice)

the only thing that's not up to snuff is Fogelman Arena...it's just too small.

but i guess that's just me.

Fogelman is going to get a significant upgrade after next season. We are tentatively set to play all our '08-'09 home games at the New Orleans Arena.
