Can't say I am surprised but it is another year where everyone is hyped up thinking we might just be good this year. And again we pull what the Chicago Cubs have for years.

Only two bright spots, Griffey, and Hamilton if he can get healthy. Might see him get Rookie of the year. Maybe not if he remains on the worst team in the NL.

Phillips isn't a bright spot? i mean the guy's been, arguably the best 2nd baseman in the league.

I think lincecum's got ROY on lock.

Well Phillips I suppose is a bright spot. His hit streak kinda went unnoticed because of the team that he is on. For how good the Reds offense is supposed to be, and how good our starting 5 was last year, you would think we would be a little better.

Your boy only has 2 wins. And that 2nd win only came a few days ago. So as of right now, I don't think so.

2 wins in 4 starts, not to mention a 3.08 ERA, a .202 BAA, and a WHIP of 1.03. Have you watched him pitch outside of that 1st start? But i guess you're right, it doesn't compare to Hamilton's .261 average in a hitter's park and a .646 OPS against lefties. He'll be sent down before the year is out, if he's allowed.

He is a Rule 5 acquisition, therefore has to remain on Major League roster for the complete season. Additionally, I have seen Lincecum twice, and I believe that of the two, Hamilton has more of an impact in a game, and is the more polished player (not bad for four years outta the game.) But, I'll say this for Lincecum, What a fastball for a little man!!!

I would put Pence over Hamilton right now
.341 BA|4 HR|16 RBI|.997 OPS over 23 games

That being said the Astros lineup could barely do anything against Lincecum and pretty much the entire Giants rotation. I hate when they play the Giants, the stros haven't won a season series against them since '99

Hamilton=5 tool player. Pitcher=every 5 day player. Hamilton has been sick for the better part of this month. Give him sometime to come back.

more of an impact? more polished? have you seen the koufax curveball and the unhittable changeup? or maybe the 97 mph 2 seam fastball? Hamilton hasn't proven that he can hit lefties, or hit outside of that bandbox. i'd say hamilton is a long time from being a great major leaguer. The guy hasn't player ball in over 2 years. Baseball isn't like football, you can't just come back and play well. the pitchers will figure him out.

I just want a fire-sale. Is there any reason that Conine and Hatteberg need to be holding down first base when we have Joey Votto hitting over .300 in the minors? Kirk Sarloos can't even record an out against the Pirates without giving up 5 runs. Can someone tell me why Homer Bailey is still in triple A? This Reds are the new bengals. We are a laughingstock.
