Dunleavy was tired of all the crap from Coach K.

He didn't want to hear about not living up to expectations this year if he struggled.

He knew that if they couldn't win the National Championship with last year's talent (3 First Team All-ACC players, and 2 All-ACC defensive players) that they wouldn't this year.

He wanted money.

I don't know if the money thing was a reason, but I know that he may have been scared of being the man on Duke's team, it is a lot of pressure. Besides that, everyone has great things to say about Coach K, so i doubt that he was tired of his crap.

However, perhaps there was another reason behind it... Perhaps Coach K didn't compliment his eyes enough.
