There are rumors flying around that our athletic department is talking with Alabama (yes the cheaters) about a possible game on August 25th. And the game will be on ESPN, the first ESPN game of the year. This would be great exposure for our program and start football even earlier

I understand that if we play this one, it will replace the Northern Illinois game. I think this would be great for our program, especially if we would win. While Alabama is down right now, they still have the name. Man, talk about a drunken road trip.

Dude, I so do not want to go to Abalama(intentional misspelling) in August. Although we might be able to procure some decent moonshine while down there...

You say it's a crazy scheme
This one's for real
I already bought the dream
So useless to ask me why
Throw a kiss and say goodbye
I'll make it this time
I'm ready to cross that fine line

CHORUS:
I'll learn to work the saxophone
I'll play just what I feel
Drink Scotch whisky all night long
And die behind the wheel
They got a name for the winners in the world
I want a name when I lose
They call Alabama the Crimson Tide
Call me Deacon Blues

Kinda ironic that we'd be going for a 'Bama/Wake matchup, but it would be ever so cool to reverse the winner & loser in the song!

Alabama with a "down" team and Dennis Franchione as coach is still going to be tough. I guarantee that they look at this as a challenging but winning game for themselves before they storm into Norman a few weeks later to get their butts kicked by OU. In short, a tune-up.

Good, so they over look us for OU, and we steal a win on national TV from them. How great would it be if as the first ESPN game of the season, we beat Alabama in Alabama.

By the way, I heard we are looking to moving the No. Illinois game to one of those 2 bye weeks in November.

Wait, on the other board this seemed like a long shot at best. Bama might not even be able to do it, and their primary target was Marshall anyway. So what's the word? When are we going to have a definite decision? It cannot be too long from now when it is going to be too late.

I have heard this game would not replace the No. Illinois Game. Grobe may be looking to move that game into one of those 2 bye weeks in November.
