This has been a great thread to read...
Naturally, I cut my wrestling teeth right here in Memphis, watching the King go over anyone who was put in his path. Pretty much every old school name you can think of came through Memphis at some point or another.
I guess, thinking back, the last big name who got his start here was Kurt Angle, back in the summer of '99. The Memphis territory has pretty much dried up since then. There's still a show that calls itself Memphis Wrestling, but it is an absolute joke.

Bobby Heenan -- yes
Brian Pillman -- I really want to, but...
Owen Hart -- yes
Ron Simmons -- yes
Shane 'O Mac -- yes
BTW, earlier you mentioned Chris Adams. I loved his "Gentleman" Chris Adams run down in the WCCW (Dallas)

Pillman is a guy who was SO CLOSE to greatness. His Loose Cannon gimmick was as great as they come.
Just as he signed his WWF contract, he destroyed his ankle in that motorcycle wreck. He was simply never the same, right up to his death.
There is no doubt in my mind that Pillman would have become the WWF World champion if he had entered the company at 100 percent. He was simply on fire until his wreck.

It's the same joke it has always been, just different characters. It makes me laugh.
