both teams made out great. The Tigers drafted a lot of pitching and traded what they didn't need, which is exactly what building a team is all about. The yankees got 3 young pitchers with carying degrees of ability, for a guy they weren't planning on keeping in the first place.

I think the Tigers got hosed, they traded there best prospect. I think Sheff is done anyways so I don't know why you would trade for him.

umm, i think cameron maybin is their best prospect. Plus, they have plenty of other great pitchers in the system. Maybe being a Reds fan makes you naturally appalled at seeing a team trade a good young pitcher, but that's what teams are supposed to do when they need something. The best way to build a team in this era, is draft only pitching, trade some of it for hitting and keep the rest. When healthy, Sheff can be the bat in the middle that they need.

I understand trading Sanchez but why would you trade your best trading piece in a deal for Gary Sheffield?? I don't know what other outfield bats are on the market but I'm sure someone better could be had for Sanchez and some other prospects.
