NY Daily News reporting Torre on way out
Report: Torre out as Yanks' skipper

FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal predicted big changes in the Bronx, and it seems he was right on the money.

According to a report from the New York Daily News, Joe Torre, the much-beloved Yankees skipper, has all but been given his walking papers following the team's shocking demise

Some team is going to reap the rewards for the Yankees' silly decision. As much as I like Cox, I almost wish the Braves had a vacancy at manager and could bring Torre back.

Honestly, if Torre is fired I cant see him managing another team, atleast not next season.

I sure pity the poor guy who ends up taking the Yankees job though.

Yeah, good point. This may be the end of the line for Torre. He's been around a long time and his legacy is secure. Even with this bad end in New York, he'll still be remembered as one of the great managers of all-time, IMO.

I don't know if Pinellia is the answer there either. Does he want to deal with New York at his age? I know he's a great manager, but it doesn't seem like a great fit. If he's going to manage, he needs to go somewhere less stressful.

He does, but that doesnt matter, The Yankees are probbably the most successful sports team in any sport on any level. Add that to the fact that they play in New York, probably the biggest, most scrutinized stage in the world, and you really have a no win situation for a manager. The more appropriate college basketball comparison would be UCLA, but even then its not even close.
