Girardi gone?
Zero chance Girardi returns

If this is true, then i hope the giants use the huge amount of money they'll have this offseason, and try to sign him.

Id be willing to bet that a story comes out in a day or two with Loria refuting these claims, but I still think Girardi will end up fired and Loria is a ******* idiot.

i heard it's not all Loria. Apparently, Girardi doesn't get along with the whole front office. The fact is, everyone is just taking it for granted that the people in the front office are jerks and girardi's a good guy who's getting screwed by them. Why can't Girardi be the a**?

The only thing that SHOULD matter is winning, because that is all the fans care about. Girardi is doing that, and therefore he shouldnt be fired. As long as he isnt driving around drunk or porking ugly hookers or injecting his own players with steroids he shouldnt be fired for winning. If for no other reason it is a PR disaster.

true, but we still don't know exactly what went on behind the scenes.

Girardi's going to the Cubs. It's a lock, IMO.

don't you think he'd want to go to a team that has a chance to win? i'm not saying he isn't going to the cubs, but that's not exactly a good situation.

But how many good teams are going to be looking for a new manager? Any organization that has an opening is going to be in some level of disarray after firing their previous manager.

You could have a Rick Carlisle situation with the Pistons a few years ago where a team lets go of a very good coach (or manager in this case) because they think Girardi (like Larry Brown) is better. I don't see that happening, though.

well, i think the giants have a better team and are willing to spend more money. also, i'm sure girardi wouldn't mind inheriting cain, lincecum and lowry.

Linecum is in high A ;-) (just doing this because you said the same thing about Bailey),

one difference though, lincecum is a college pitcher, which means he's a lot more developed than bailey.

BTW, i'm sure bailey is sick. no doubt

Linecum is going to be a good one though. I wanted the Reds to take him, there were concerns over his size but he has dominated so far. We are stuff with a toolsy college outfielder that can't hit in rookie ball 04-chairshot

i just hope the comparisons to oswalt are somewhere near accurate. He's strong like oswalt. He went 7 innings and struck out 10 in San Jose's playoff opener. He threw a lot of innings this season, when you add his college numbers.

Shut him down. The Reds shut down Homer like 3 weeks ago after he dominated double a. Don't risk it especially with a little guy.
