he had a bad start of the season, still not as many blown saves as hoffman. Mets lead the Majors in one run wins ;-)

he's a very good closer, but i think people often overrate him because he throws so hard.

I dont think a closer should ever get a Cy Young, the save is the most overrated stat in the history of baseball, but that is just me.

Even in a year where there are no dominant starters a good starter is infinitely more valuable than a closer, I would probably go with whoever ends up with more wins out of Carpenter or Webb.

I would say it's a toss up between Carpenter, Webb, and Oswalt right now. Whoever pitches the best til the end of the season will get it.
