Well....it looks like the moderators from the accboards are here en masse, so I guess I can address them. No one from this board is going to indiscriminantly email anyone from the accboards again. That did happen with one person from this site, and it was quickly stopped. One area of grayness, is whether or not it is OK to tell your friends about this board. Many friends were made while posting on the accboards....so....I'm not sure what you guys think is OK. I have made many friends through games and gereral interaction. I have emailed or IMed many of them. I have slowed that down to almost a halt becuase of Kent's wishes. However, it is nearly impossible to tell someone who posts on this board, not to spread things through word of mouth. People will talk with their friends. I want everyone to know that they are welcome, but I will no longer actively "recruit" posters. I think that sentiment is felt by everyone here now. Additionally, no one has posted a link to this site, except for one confused poster on the UNC board. He is not even registered he, he just didn't know what was going on. No one will be posting any links. The intro graphic with the similar slogan has been removed also. We are trying very hard to meet all demands.

Let me just say this. We registered this site a week ago. Then we spent all day Tuesday and Wednesday designing and coding. People started getting access on Thursday or Friday depending on their location. It has been 5 days since this board opened up. We had no idea it would take off like this. If it had grown at the pace we expected, none of these things would be major issues. We are a bit staggered by whats going on, but we're trying hard to cope with all these issues. Many of you have expressed that people need to give the EZ Boards time before making a decision.....and I am requesting a bit of that as well. We're doing our best.

Thanks....

Pooh, there is a difference. The links on accboards are not to the message boards of those sites. They are to the content section. If you had a content site here, it probably wouldn't be a problem either. Kent's policy has been in place since Statefans tried to use his site for free advertising to theirs.

au contraire, small bear... we linked posts on the devil's den and terrapin times site all the time on the maryland board there.. and they went unedited, undeleted. again, it's not going to happen from here, so this is all a moot point, to a certain extent... i guess you guys saying that it's not allowed and has never been allowed.. knowing that we did it all the time is just making me argumentative a bit. oh well. i'm off this thread for good. i think all that needs to be said on it has been said.

i think it's nice of you guys to show that people can post on both boards on a regular basis.. you don't have to choose between them. hope to see more of you all.

IMO, the links to TDD or IC or whatever are posts within a thread. The links going up on ACCBoards over the weekend were in the form of solicitations. There is a huge difference where intent is concerned. I think that is the point Kent made clear to Larry.

Beyond that, I can't speak for Kent and what would be accetable.

your point is valid, but it's a non sequitur.

no one was arguing the point about posting a thread or link over there that says "COME CHECK OUT THIS NEW BOARD."

we were discussing the newly enforced policy that a thread (such as this one) cannot be linked to accboards because this board is considered a rival board, when threads from rival boards have always been allowed up until now.

thanks for stopping by RMB.. will you be registering Ford Prefect over here too?
