this means nothing without a positive test. and don't give me that crap about how it's easy toget around these tests. because when i suggest that NFL players are on steroids, people tell me that there have hardly been any positive tests. you can't convict someone of murder without a weapon.

I wouldn't care if he never played another game. I think he's a cheater!

lets say for argument's sake that he did take steroids. with that being true, why he is a bad guy, but puckett, who beat up his wife and had 2 women on the side, is a good guy?

umm, are you listening to any of this? everyone is talking about how he was an inspiration and a great role model.

I know what the media has been saying, but I thought you were talking to the people who had responded to this thread.

But Kirby was an inspiration and a role model, in his playing days. No one ever had a bad thing to say about him. He was loved by everyone, and was respected by many. Not only that, but he was friendly to the media, which makes a huge difference in how players are perceived. We all know BarRoid has never been a good friend to the media.

Kirby had issues off the field after he retired, and if the allegations were true, then he wasn't a good guy. But there have been allegations that Bonds was a wife beater and an adulterer, too, correct? For you to condemn Puckett for the allegations against him while turning a blind eye to the EXACT same allegations against Bonds is absurd.

And also, why do you say with such certainty that Puckett beat and cheated on his wife, while playing the "innocent until proven guilty" card with Bonds, despite the mountain of evidence piling up against him?

ok, first, puckett did these things while playing, as well as after he retired. and, the bonds beating his wife thing, was an allegation and was dismissed in court. the issues with puckett were proven, they weren't simply allegations. Bonds and puckett are both innocent until proven guilty, but bonds hasn't been proven guilty and puckett has.

I didn't know that Puckett was convicted of beating his wife, or maybe I just forgot. What was his punishment?

no idea. these days, athletes get a slap on the wrist for criminal activity, unless they do something as heinous as take steroids (sarcasm).

Puckett never took or did anything to compromise the integrity of the game... Bonds did. From a baseball standpoint, trying to compare spousal abuse and adultry to steriods is rediculous.

the difference in those 2 cases, is proof. we have proof that rose bet on baseball, yet we have no positive test for bonds, sosa, mcgwire or any of them for that matter.

do you think clemens was on the juice? let's apply the same logic that you do to bonds. look at clemens as a kid with boston and look at him now, he's enormous.
