Survivor Challenge #7: Battleship
In case you're not aware already -- there are new teams. Go read the 'dice' thread to see them.

This week you'll be playing battleship.

Rules of Engagement:
- Grid size is A-O across, 1-15 down
- You may not place boats diagonally, overlapping, or off grid
- You take turns guessing.
- If you get a hit, you get TWO guesses your next turn. However, you get no more than two guesses per turn. That is, if you get hits with both guesses, you don't get four guesses next time, but two once again. If you hit one and miss one.. that's still a hit so you get two next time.
- First team to sink the other team's ENTIRE FLEET wins.
- Each team has one nuclear missle. It has a blast radius of 4 squares vertically, horizontally, and diagonally. Any boat hit within the radius is considered sunk.
- When a boat is sunk, the team must declare it has been sunk so both teams can keep track of things.
- I can answer for a team, but that doesn't mean you can pester me to answer.

Boats:
- Aircraft Carrier (6 x 1 squares)
- Submarine (3 x 1 squares)
- Frigit (2 x 1 squares)
- Battleship (5 x 1 squares)
- Hovercraft (2 x 2 squares)
- Destroyer (4 x 1 squares)
- PT Boat (1 x 1 squares)

Teams have until 10:30 PM Eastern tonight to submit a diagram of their fleet to me. Simply make a 15x15 table in Word or OpenOffice.org and show boats but putting the first letter of their name in all squares they occupy.

Good luck and happy hunting.

Can I know what squares all of the destroyed ships took or is that against the rules?

Quick Question GTS, the Nuke, which is a radius of 4 each way, does that mean the square is 9x9? 4 on each side of the center point + the center point?

From ground zero....
- 4 up/down
- 4 left/right
- 4 diagonal
- make a square from that

.. and you have your blast radius

You had a couple hours to bring up issue with it before the maps were submitted.

So does your original statement of 5 destroyed ships still stand?

If one your your ships got hit @D-2, it is sunk. Does that mean we have sunk 6 of your ships?

The original statement of 5 ships still stands...D2 was only a piece of a ship outside the blast radius...
