....and, since this is OBVIOUSLY an attack on Bush, what branch did you serve in? I mean, you speak as if you are an authority on the subject, so which branch? My father was drafted into the Army, 2 weeks into his boot camp at Parris Island. I guess he "dodged" his as well, huh? Bush didn't dodge a GDamn draft.

The Army had Basic at Parris Island?

That was the point. He was in the Marines Corps for 2 weeks when he was drafted into the Army. Somehow they didn't find the humor in him telling them he had to report to MEPS for the Army. It was a paperwork goof and no, he didn't go into the Army.

They support the troops. I have no problem with what they are saying.

Oh, and aside from Cheney and a few others, which cabinet members are you referring to? Bush served. Rumsfeld served. You seem to give Democrats a pass when they are in that position, only showing your own partisan bias. Clinton DODGED the draft and you are on record as saying you voted for him. As for Kerry, I feel he did FAR worse than Clinton.

Putting a flag sticker on your car and a yellow ribbon magnet does not mean you support the troops. Neither does getting fat no bid contracts for your defense contractor buddies. If they support the troops, why wouldn't they serve?

I would assume that all disagreement came with this statement:
Quote:(6) setting an artificial timetable for the withdrawal of United States Armed Forces from Iraq, or immediately terminating their deployment in Iraq and redeploying them elsewhere in the region, is fundamentally inconsistent with achieving victory in Iraq;

Which has nothing to do with questioning our support of the soldiers or Iraqis. Its more a question of how about to go with Iraq. Thus its is only political BS.
