Enough whining about fuel. The national average is around 2.05-2.10, I live in California and pay substantially higher prices, so all of you who are paying 2 bucks quit crying already, the prices should begin to steadily drop in July, production is increasing and so is exporting, our refining capacity must increase to prevent these types of flucuation in the future.Im guessing some of you are perhaps even paying less than 2 bucks.

I saw 2 stations in College Park that were sub-$2.00/gallon. Although, it was unclear if they were cash only. But, I might head over today to get gas.
It's an interesting dynamic to see prices jockey between VA and MD.

I have no problem with higher gas prices - if price can be used to jog people into finding cheaper ways to get things done, I'm all for it. I'm just glad I had already chosed to buy a more fuel-efficient vehicle prior to the spikes - call it the tree-hugger in me. :D

I got a Hybrid Civic almost 2 years ago. What about you.
BTW, I agree w/ your post...sort of. Like the following:
I lived in a condo complex where the mailboxes were at various central locations. People routinely would stop and park in front of the mailbox, get their mail and then go park...about 20 ft away.
20 ft? (alright maybe 40' for some people) How f'n lazy can you get?
Meanwhile, gas rises and I pay for it too, b/c these folks are too lazy and stupid. I'd like to think these high prices will change the routine...but I'd bet it doesn't.

2001 Toyota Camry. My trek to DeKalb just went from 1.25 tanks to .75 tank of gas. And it rides better. I had a Nissan Pathfinder - one of the "better" SUVs for gas mileage, though certainly not "good".
I agree about the morons. I think it's symptomatic of the American culture. Everything is about convenience for me and me only.
Silly example, not really about gas consumption - I stop at a convenience store every morning for my Diet Coke. I park in the designated parking places, stop the car, go in and buy my drink. EVERY DAY some jagoff comes and parks either RIGHT in front of the door, or within 5 feet of the door. Why? Can't spare the extra 20 seconds it takes to walk 20 yards and turn the key in your car?
One day, a group of college kids parked perpendicularly to the front door, as if their next move was to drive their car into the store. Seriously, what kind of selfish, pompous *** thinks that's a good idea?
The problem with the gas prices is that people here think it is their God-given right to do whatever they damn well please. I cannot stand that attitude.
