For the non-BCS'ers:

Looks like Louisville comes in at #17 and Marshall at #21.

BYU, Fresno State, Colorado State, Southern Miss, Hawaii, Boise State, Toledo, Louisiana Tech, and UNLV in the others recieving votes categories

And I don't believe Grobe has a vote.

I can't remember for sure the last time the Canes were #1 in a preseason poll(1992,maybe?).It seems in the past ,anytime we were ranked # 1 in the preseason,we usaully came up a litle short(might have been preseason#1 in 86,and 90,and i'm pretty sure miami was ranked #1 in 88 and 92).86 and 92 the Canes lost in the national title game,90 lost to byu in the 1st game of the season and also to Notre Dame later in the year, and in 88 they lost to Notre Dame by 1 which kept them from another national title shot.History is against the Canes this year. i just hope and pray that sports illustrated does not rank Miami#1 and put them on the cover. <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" />

Watch out for Marshall and Byron Leftwich, he'll be a star this year as he was last year. And plus he has more experience and was really smart for staying in school
