Griffey starting is a JOKE!

.244 batting average...

JOKE PERIOD...

1) and i would like to address this to everyone. the fan voting system, is the best system any sport can actually use. It isn't perfect, but nothing is.

2) Part of me agrees with you, in saying that griffey doesn't deserve it. but the other part of me, wants to see an outfield with over 1700 homers. it's the most powerful outfield ever.

Disagree. I'd take Aaron, Mays and Frank Robinson in '57 any day.

A few random thoughts...

Giambi being the first baseman is insane.

Loretta was a great pick.

Loaiza is another joke.

Where's J.D. Drew?

Is Giambi the worst all-star starter ever? Its possible.

And Bobby Abreu is easily the biggest snub.

what about Overbay??

And to Swoosh...

It will be nice to see an outfield with over 1700 homers, I just think hitting .244 is hardly having an all-star year... but it's who the fans want to see...

Reminds me of when Juan Gone complained about the Indians fans stuffing the ballot boxes, and would only go if he made it in as a starter, well atleast our players were deserving...

.244!! that still makes me sick...

Guess you should hope he hits a dinger, he's batting .188 when he doesn't homer...

First base in the NL is killer. He deserves it, but there was no room.

Abreu deserves it way more than Cabrera. He hits for about 10 points higher average, has 15 more steals, about 30 more walks, and 2 more RBI.

i think cabrera deserves it over abreu. cabrera has more RBI, and only 3 points lower in BA. He also has more HR's. But the main thing that pushes cabrera ahead of abreu, is the ballpark factor. abreu plays in that launching pad in philly (which is said to be heaven for lefties), and cabrera plays in one of the toughest hitter's parks in the NL.

Also, c'mon Gdawgs, cabrera is better, and has been better than drew.

No way, this isn't even close.

Cabrera and Abreu are even on RBI. I will humor you and say they are even on BA. But are you not the man that always speaks so highly of OBP? Abreu's is almost 80 points higher! Only Bonds, Helton, and Berkman's are higher. He has almost 30 more walks and 15 more steals.

Who cares about the park? This is an all-star game. No park comparison can make up 80 points OBP. I think you are just looking for something to disagree with me. The key is OBP, which you always praise Bonds for having a high one. If you argue against it, you are a hypocrite.

OBP is huge, but the ballpark makes such a difference. if cabrera played in citizens bank, he would have much better numbers than abreu.
