1997 class - concensus #1, Brand, Battier, Burgess, Avery

1999 class - concensus #1, Williams, Dunleavy, Boozer, Sanders, Horvath, Buckner

2002 class - concensus #1, Randolph, Williams, Dockery, Thompson, Redick, Melchionni (walk)

That's 3 out of the last 6.

This year, Duke already has Kris Humphries, who has been rated top 2 at the Nike camp, and is concensus top 15. Duke also is a lock for Luol Deng, a top 3 player (also concensus). Deng is front runner for "best player in 2003 class not named Lebron". Last but certainly not least, Ndi, or Ndudi, Ebi is also top 3 in the class, and is said to be a slight Duke lean, with Texas 2nd and Arizona in 3rd.

If Duke nails Deng and Ebi, which is very, very possible, that is the #1 class again.

4 out of the last 7... damn <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="smile.gif" />

4 out of the last 7 #1 recruiting classes <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

That is pretty impressive; it seems that Coach K almost picks and chooses his recruits these days.

How come Duke has only won 1 national championship in the last ten years?

It's hilarious that

a) you spin the facts
b) you spin them to make you look up to par with Duke, and you are cheering about it!!

Also, it's 2 titles in the last 10 years, 3 in 11.

2002 - 1992 = 10 (years)

And... The only 2 recruiting classes which have had a chance to win it all at Duke have had a member do it.

Isn't it amazing Rick?

Recruits know that they'll suck in the NBA, yet they still come here!!!

A recruiting class doesn't matter if a coach doesn't know what to do with it. Because Coach K has such knowledge of the game, he has done incredibly well with his recruits. The same can be said about Gary W.

Furthermore, it isn't fair for us to say much about how someone's college bball skills will impact their ability in the nba. There are many intangible factors that will impact this, ranging from coach to injuries, to time available for playing.

Don't get me wrong, i'm no dook fan, but the failures of duke players to be as good as they are expected to be isn't his fault alone.
