I gotta score some good tickets for the upcoming year. My son is starting to be more of a baseball fan and I want to make sure he becomes an O's fan!

I grew up with the Orioles. I remember going to the Memorial Stadium to watch Boog Powell, Jim Palmer and Brooks Robinson play (among others). Earl Weaver was manager. (Yes I am old).

We used to stop by the bar on the way, fill up our jug with draft beer, get a bucket of chicken and then go sit in the outfield in Section 29. As long as you were physically able to carry your kid through the turnstile, they could get in free. LT went to 30-40 games a year with us. Tickets were $2.50 each for the adults. If I remember correctly, our total cost for the night (tickets, beer and food) was right around $10.

I can watch other teams and even root for them, but deep down I will always be an O's fan.

BTW, anyone else notice that once people lave the O's, they become great?

McLemore
Palmeiro
Robby Alomar Jr.
There are others, I can't think of right now.

Alomar and Palmerio were great players when they were here. The players to support your claim would be Curt Shilling and Steve Finley and a few others.

Palmer, McNally, Cuear and Dobson ( I figure I slaughtered their names) as 20 game winners. Frank, Boog, Buford, Brooks, and the rest do bring back some wonderful memories. GO O's! Wearin my O's hat as we speak!!! Pisses me off that I got the Card's this year. We all fight over being the O's (my preference) or the Braves.

Palmeiro and Alomar weren't nearly the players with the O's that they were/are after their career with the O's.

I forgot another one. Didn't Kevin Brown (not sure about the name; pitcher) play for the O's, later to win the Cy Young?

palmeiro was good for 35/110 every year as an oriole...and alomar was a great player before he became an oriole, he didn't play all that well here for whatever reason (partly the spitting incident), but he was an all star before even joining the club.

schilling, finley and harnisch were all part of that damned glenn davis trade and all have been all stars since.

Kevin Brown did play for the Orioles, he has since won a World series with the Marlins and gone to another with the Padres. He is now with the Dodgers. Jamie Moyer has been great since the O's cut him several years ago.
