From today's Washington Post. Oh my God we are going to suck [Image: mad-flaming.gif] :

In fact, Manager Mike Hargrove's lineup felt suspiciously like a test run for Opening Day, April 1, although Hargrove cautioned not to read anything into it. "We're really just looking at some things," he said. "It's not necessarily the [lineup] we're pointing to for Opening Day."

Jerry Hairston batted leadoff, as the Orioles begin the experiment to see if their 25-year-old second baseman can handle the role. Singleton batted second with shortstop Mike Bordick third, followed by right fielder Jeff Conine and first baseman David Segui. Designated hitter Jay Gibbons was sixth, followed by third baseman Tony Batista, Cordova and catcher Brook Fordyce.

that lineup is good for atleast two runs a game! now all we need is 4 or 5 all-star pitchers and we might be able to go 81-81!!!

Mike Bordick is going to bat 3rd? The three hole is supposed to be for the best hitter. If Bordick is our best hitter we are in trouble.

And the future is pretty bleak as well. Baseball America just released their Top 100 prospects list -- the first Oriole to appear is Erik Bedard at #90!!!!!!

Ugggggh.

The Orioles will win the World Series this year. Anyone who disagrees is an idiot. We are deceptively fast, deceptively powerful, have deceptively good hitting, have deceptively good pitching, have deceptively good depth and have deceptively good coaching. All doubters will be ashamed to read this thread at the end of the year!
