ESPN has Clemson returning 8 starters on defense and 4 on offense. But those numbers are even better that what people think.

On Offense the following positions will have to be filled with new starters: (7)
QB
RB
Center
2 Offensive Guards
WR
and either a OT,WR,TE,or FB (I don't know exactly which positions ESPN counts toward the 11)

One of the starters we lose is Matt Bailey at WR. He was fifth on the team at the WR position in catches, yards, and yards per play. Youngblood who would have been one of our better starters last season returns for this upcoming season after breaking his leg the year before. Not losing anything with that one. 5 starters returning.

The last position that ESPN is claiming will have to be filled by a new starter i'm not sure about goes to either Brantley who started 6 games at OT, another WR where we are exteremly deep and players have gotten plenty of game experience, TE where we had ALL-ACC freshman Ben Hall (got more playing time than any other TE), or FB where Jasmin also got more playing time than any other FB. 6 returning starters on Offense.

RB is also a position where all though we lost Zachery we gain two great RB's in Rambert and Kelly with Rambert getting some good playing time (played 268 snaps last season) and has been around for 3 years. Still sticking to 6 starters though.

On defense Bodrick replaces Hafely at Safety. Bodrick was a starter in 2000 but had to miss 2001 with an ACL injury. Replacing one starter with another. 9 starters returning on Defense.

So to sum up this long post a more realistic number to consider when looking at starters returning is 9 on defense and 6 on offense.
