The Lakers vs Kings series starts today. Hopefully Sacramento will get off to a good start in the series and win game 1. I think with Bibby and Webber they may be able to beat the Lakers in 7.

Lakers are tough hoops. Game 1 is over and again the Lakers have won on the road for the 12th straight time. Home court edge is now L.A.'s. They swept the Kings last year, they beat them 3 out of 4 in the regular season, I saw nothing today to make me think the Lakers will lose this series. The Lakers are so versatile. Inside force with Shaq, excellent spot up shooters, athletic perimeter defenders, a solid bench and the great slashing and creativity of Kobe. Plus the fact they have won 2 titles in a row. There poised, confident and know how to win.

I have to agree MPhilo#47 after watching Game 1. The Lakers still look unstoppable especially on the road. Unless their style of play/concentration in the playoffs takes a drastic turn, then it looks like they will march on to win their 3rd straight.

Nice win for Sacramento. But as a Laker fan I actually feel very good about our chances of winning this series. Despite all the foul trouble, huge desparity in FT attempts and really a lousy overall performance by the Lakers, they were still right there in the game. I feel very confident going into game 3. I also have the feeling Kobe will be feeling a little better by friday........lol.

The Kings handed it to the Lakers <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" /> last night at Satples and took a 201 lead in the series. <img border="0" alt="[Cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/cheers.gif" />

That 201 lead is often hard to come back from. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
I'm pulling for the Kings for a few reasons. First of all, I just don't like Shaq or Kobe. Shaq's comments about how Vlade Divac shouldn't win the title because he doesn't have any talent and he is like a blue-collar worker on the court (paraphrasing here) just makes me think of how spoiled Shaq is. He seems to be saying that a title is due to him just because of his talent. I actually believe the opposite. The championship shouldn't automatically go to the most talented team -- it should be earned by the team that plays the best. So far, Sacramento (and Vlade) have played the best because they've played harder.
Then, you have one of the league's roughest post players (Shaq) -- who throws his body around down low like he's in a pinball machine -- complaining about the officiating. That must be a joke....
I still think the Lakers will come back, but I would love for the Kings to win and prove everyone wrong....

Game 4 is tonight. It would be great if the Kings could take a 2 games lead in the series!
