Arkiesaw? I don't get it. John McDonnell is the finest coach in America in any sport and has developed the strongest dynasty ever in the NCAA. 39 National Championships is nothing to make fun of.

Congrats to the Pac Ten on their many championships, and a big WTF to the G-Tech fan who apparently needs to undermine the effort of my University and any athlete who doesnt participate in the big three.

"Arkiesaw" was used in good humor, and is a running gag of sorts between myself and a few other fans.

If somebody mentioning "arkiesaw" in passing, especially after pointing out that Arkansas pretty much owns track, is enough to set you off, I don't think message boards will work well for you.

Uh I may be mistaken, but doesnt USC have more baseball Championships than anyone? And by my count they have nearly double of what the SEC and ACC have combined. The PAC 10 pretty much dominates baseball.

Dont be such a blind homer.

Name the last 3 Pac-10 baseball champs.

YOU CAN'T!

Because they don't dominate anymore.

Weak. First, UCLA sets the mark for men's basketball.

Women's basketball was U$C and Stanford until UConn came along...they're in the NORTHeast, BTW.

And you better check out ASU's 6 titles in Women's golf. They are plenty competitive in Men's golf too. Even the UofA puts out here too.

BUT, as for football, U$C has been elite since the beginning. And ASU has a title. The "Southeast" that you talk about, only comes through if you add together 3 conferences, and include the ones that were given by the Bank of Tuscaloosa:rolleyes: and when people avoided the Pac 10 (like 1997).

As for soccer...keep it, who cares? :roflol:

Keyword: Anymore.

Which is more than the ACC can say, because they NEVER dominated. I don't see Rice and Cal ST Fullerton as part of the "mighty" southeast.

Thats funny GTS, if you read the link you'll notice that the ACC won ZERO mens titles, so your arguement is absolutely wrong. And I stated football is not included so thats another one for the Pac 10. Im surprised you attempted to lump the ACC in with the SEC in Football and Baseball as well, the SEC has been better in both overall for several years, the only way the ACC could keep Fla St from winning the conf title in Football every year was to grab Miami as a member 03-razz . I thought the Pac Tens overall athletic accomplishments were quite impressive this year. SC was absolutely deserving of its co-championship. Baseball and hoops were dissappointments this year in the postseason, but the fifth place conf team did make it to the CWS and the conf was 6-2 in its bowl games!!!As far as baseball title go Arizona State hass 5 , including finishing second 5 times, that means the Sun Devils have appeared in the championship at Omaha 10 times, and of course the Devils have produced such players as Reggie Jackson and Barry Bonds to name a few. And for you to call out volleyball as a legit title, yet pump up lacrosse is sort of hypocritical don't you think, I wasn't putting down the other confs by my post but simply congratulating the Pac Ten for an impressive accomplishment, its not easy to win a title in any sport!!!

GTS, the last ACC team to win the CWS was Wake Forest in 1955 :laugh: Miami has won a bunch but not as a member of the baseball dominating ACC, heres the past champions at omaha, I chose to go back to 1978 which is when ASU and UA joined the pac. If you take LSU out of the mix, the SEC is a joke as well it obviously a sport dominated by the West. As I stated the ACC has been superior in hoops the past 20 years but your statements were abudantly inaccurate!

2002 Texas
2001 Miami
2000 Louisiana State Univ.
1999 Miami
1998 Southern Cal

1995 Cal State Fullerton
1994 Oklahoma
1993 Louisiana State Univ.

I dont think I've ever seen GTS pump lacrosse but for the most part you are right on. Its one thing to talk trash, and of course I like the ACC but you gotta have your facts straight.

I agree terpy GTS is a big fan so I understand how he could be biased. I am biased for the Pac Ten as well as the Devils but I reckonize the accomplishments of other schools and conferences and I don't pretend that the Pac Ten is the best in everything,I'd say in the current structure of the big 3 sports I'd have to say :
Football=SEC
Hoops=ACC
Baseball=too close to call, I'd say top to bottom pac ten or SEC.

If your talking alltime
Football=SEC/Big 12
Hoops=Pac Ten/ACC
Baseball=Pac Ten

Yep, GTS, it was a really down year for Arkansas Track and Field... just 1 national title this year :drink: . Not up to our usual standards...but we'll be back up again in no time.

Congrats to the Pac-10 on their successful year. Usually though, every year a new conference has a really great year and takes up most of the honors. This year it's the Pac-10.

Comparing national championships between conferences though isn't all that easy, mainly because a lot of schools don't play the same sports as others. Michigan and Big 10 schools play ice hockey. Syracuse won the lacrosse nat'l title. How many schools out west or in the SEC/ACC play those sports? The Big 12 and Big 10 have wrestling, which no SEC team competes in. That's why I think the Sears Directors Cup is a piece of crap. The only real way to compare is to either 1) take only the sports that 95% (or an overwhelming majority of 1-A schools) play in and count championships between the schools in those sports, or 2) just compare national titles amongst the teams in your respective conference.
