2002 preseason football rankings.
1. Florida State
2. Maryland
3. Georgia Tech
4. Clemson
5. N.C. State
6. Wake Forest
7. Virginia
8. North Carolina
9. Duke

This is seriously how our conference should look going into the 2002 season. I'm sure these rankings will not stand at the end of the season though. Let us know your opinions on the ACC preseason?

The ACC is a league with great parity...

Duke is a "lock" for the cellar...

The 'Noles...are still the team to beat...

After that it becomes a toss-up...

There are questions for all the remaining teams...
who finds the answers quickest...could make the
biggest gains...

When it is all over...

#1 Florida State
#2 N.C. State
#2 Clemson (Tie for second)
#4 Georgia Tech
#5 Maryland
#6 Virginia
#7 No Carolina
#8 Wake Forest
#9 Duke

When the Noles talk about football us Tigers have to listen, especially after all these butt cuttins yall have handed us over the years. <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" />
Do the Noles expect a big crowd for our Thursday night Bowden Bowl this year? I remember when we played GT on Thursday a couple years back in Clemson we had a small crowd. People had to work on Friday and Clemson fans have to travel long distances to see us play. We are not exactly located in a booming metropolis.

officially listed as a Sell-Out! You'd have to
purchase FSU Season tickets to get a seat for
this game. I think...Clemson received 8,000
tickets.

'Noles always get up for Clemson...

FSU has only lost two home games in the last 15
years to teams from outside of the state of Florida and Clemson (pre-acc days) was one of them. Tigers have always been respected at FSU.

They have always based their teams on speed and
agility and athletes...like FSU.

Clemson has a long and storied Football History.

Clemson is, in the minds of Coaches and Players,
our chief ACC rival...Ga Tech, (proximity) is
second.

'Course with a little tongue in cheek...Clemson
dominated the ACC thru the 80's and most decades
for that matter...In the past...we at Florida
State would jokingly say...or plaster on the
rear windows of our vehicles this message...

(anymore)

It seems odd that the newest team to join the conference dominates.

GT owned the league in football until FSU showed up (and Bill L**** [censored for weak stomaches] came on scene).

I think FSU's reign is waning though. All the tell-tale signs are there.

Florida State's run in football has more good years left in it than UNC does in basketball. That said, I do think that another school will win the title again in the next 3-4 years.

Echo what Cake said. Also, I don't understand what you guys are talking who seem to think Florida State is on the demise. Sure, they had a down year by their standards, but look at what they have going for them: a reputation as one of the top 3 football programs in the country, an enormous stadium, gorgeous women, and arguably the biggest party school in the nation. Those things aren't going to change. Florida State is a school made for football.

Saint Bobby has already mentioned retirement after gaining the career win record.

I think the weapons are in place in the ACC for FSU to have a serious contendor yet again to the throne. However, there are alot of unanswered questions surrounding those weapons. It's basically a roll of the dice to see who can get their crap together the quickest, and the best to face off against FSU. The only thing that comes into play is schedule... how late is FSU played?

NCSU, GT, UVA are all capable of knocking of FSU, but they have internal issues to fix first. FSU is not invincible as some like to think.
