Here are my picks for most surprising teams so far.

Most surprising (For better), Kansas City: With a young pitching staff and an ugly bullpen I thought KC would be awful this year, instead they lead the AL Central with an 11-3 record.

Most surprising (For worse), Arizona: With Johnson and Schilling at the top of the rotation, Arizona was an easy pick to win the NL West. But Randy and Curt are off to terrible starts, and the D-Backs trail San Fran by 8.5 games already.

I agree with you on both of those.

Not really surprising, but how about the Tigers. After 11 games, they were already 10 games out of first. (they were 1-11, KC was 11-1) How pitiful is that? I say we should contract them. They have a team batting avg of about .175 and the National League pitchers have more homers and RBIs so far than the entire Tigers team.

I just want to add the Pittsburgh Pirates, for the good.

Last I checked they were in first, then they dropped 1 game to second place in their division. They've certainly got the talent.

The Red Wings get swept by Anaheim......the Toledo Storm lose in the 2nd round of the ECHL playoffs after having the best record during the regular season........the Lions aren't particularly good.......the Tigers just flat out suck.......

Good thing we have <span style='font-family:Arial'><span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'><span style='color:blue'>Toledo Rockets Football</span></span></span>

Prior could very well win 20 games this year, GDawgs. He may not, but if he keeps up with his recent outings, he's definitely on pace.

Dusty has those boys in top form!!! ......umm, for the first time in a loooooooooooooong time.

But yes, if my numbers are correct and dated, KWood is 3-0 with a 3.11 ERA, and Mark is 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA. Very nice!

  Looking good so far, but it is a long, treacherous season and my Cubbies have been famous for their quick starts and late spirals. But this year has a different feel to it. We'll see.

Yep...spent his freshman year at Vandy and then transferred to USC.

He whipped Tech's butts in the 2001 NCAA Tournament while at Southern Cal. He had the kind of filthy stuff that shouldn't be allowed in college baseball.

I also like the way Shawn Estes is throwing the ball. I think he was a good sign.

I agree, but he's gonna have to get that ERA down, I think he's at 5.something. He's 1-2 in 4 starts, but he'll come around.

You're right his stats aren't that great, but I think they need a veteran to mix in with Wood, Prior, Clement and Zambrano.
