Derek Watson? Is he still considered a Gamecock?

I think round one is supposed to be next Saturday, the 26th of April. I don't think the draft is on a Wednesday....but I could be wrong.

I think you're right Herd fan. I was wrong. The 26th sounds right.

If, by "big name", you mean the number one pick, I'd say my man Carson Palmer will be. However, the Bengals are trying to work some deal out where they may not pick him.....

Draftee shot in the back
Quote from article:
Weathersby was shot in the back, below the lungs, with the bullet passing through his torso, and entering his forearm. Contrary to an earlier report by ESPN.com, the bullet did not exit his arm, is still lodged there, but will not be removed.
----------------------------
Ok, I'm not a doctor, but why isn't the bullet going to be removed?

And secondly, I agree with GDawgs, this is not good, very unfortunate. However, he is quoted as saying, "I was at the wrong place at the wrong time". Then, it goes on to mention where the incident happended.....umm, in da hood where gang activity takes place!
Wrong place, wrong time? No **** Sherlock. What in the hell is a soon-to-be millionaire doing in the hood around gang activity? I've never understood that. Sure, I know alot of these kids grew up there, so it's there roots, but why in God's name do you still hang out with thugs, jeopardizing a very promising career? I'm sure there's much more to this story, but that's my take on it. It happens more often than is published, too. Puzzling!

I heard tonight that they have announced that they will draft Palmer. That may be a kiss of death for Carson. Cincy hasn't had good luck drafting a QB in a loooong time (Rick Mirer, Akiki Smith, etc).

I think they should trade down a few spots to get Terence Newman. Carson Palmer had one great year and three lackluster ones, like Akili Smith did, and we know what happened with Smith.

When your finely tuned body is your ticket out of those dangerous areas - why jeopardize it?

I dunno about the bullet removal - maybe it will do more harm if it is removed?
