....in person.
I think it was 1979. I sat in the balcony overlooking the steel cage at the Township. Flair and Black Jack Mulligan verses Paul Jones and Barron Von Rashke.
Jones and Von Rashke spent the majority of the match grating the Nature Boy's forehead into the steel cage like a hunk of cheese or something. In the end, somebody tosses a roll of quarters into the ring and Jones uses it to slug the nature Boy and subsequently pin him.
After the match, as I descended the staircase from the balcony, I was stopped by event staff so the wrestlers could exit the auditorium. I was maybe 3 feet from Flair as he pased by. Close enough to see that his forehead was in fact open flesh.
Of course, that was back when "red turned green". :thumb:

I would have to say the match I saw one night in Greenville many, many moons ago. It was a russian chain match between Nikita Koloff (sp) vs. Magnum T. A. Those guys beat the living crap out of each other. Now I know a lot of people are going to say that wrestling isn't real and I'm not saying it is, but I know they had to be sore the next day. Any kind of weapon they could find, they used it against each other. If I wasn't so modest, I would tell you about my greatest match ever IMO.

The best more recent match I remember was the one Undertaker/Austin match a few years ago. They were both very bloody and beating the hell out of each other. It seemed like Taker was dominating and was going to win, but Austin pulled it out.
Going back aways, I was a huge Hogan fan in the '80s and the WrestleMania where Hogan beat Andre the Giant was pretty good. It is funny watching tape replays of that body slam now and seeing how Andre basically jumped up to help Hogan do the body slam.
