Here are a couple links about Moonlight Graham:
<a href="http://www.uslink.com/~0695vs/moonlight.html" target="_blank">http://www.uslink.com/~0695vs/moonlight.html</a>

The first one does confirm that Doc Graham was born in Fayetteville, NC in 1879, so it is very conceivable that he may have played ball at Carolina. He played some minor league ball with the Charlotte Hornets of the North Carolina League before his one day in the big leagues with the NY Giants.
He then went on to med school & settled in Chisholm, MN. When Field of Dreams came out, I was working with a woman whose husband was a Chisholm native and he confirmed the love that the doc had for the town and the town had for him, even 20 years after his death. Neat story that helps to make FOD one of my all-time favorite movies!

Thanks for the additional informationon Doc. It's starting to fall into place now.
Location of birth-confirmed
UNC player-confirmed
Charlotte Hornets-confirmed
Chisholm-confirmed
There are a couple of additional things I would like to determine:
1.Where did Doc attend medical school?
2.How did he wind up in Chisholm, Minn.?
Any help you can give me on these two points will be appreciated.
Oh, one other thing that I have not been able to confirm but will in the near future. I have been told there is a plaque dedicated to Doc at Boshamer.

Luy:
I really appreciate the information you provided on Doc Graham. It's amazing what can be learned on the internet. I now know even the plot and grave number of Doc's final resting place.
I plan to write a second installment on the Doc Graham story in the near future on ramfanatic.com.
