Those who have heard Metallica's new album, what do ya think of it? I just bought it a couple a days ago and am honestly a little "on the fence" about it.

There are several songs on it that kick arse, but there are a few where they sounded unsure about the direction they wanted to take with a few songs. (ie long, drawn out intros, a lot of changing tempos, etc.)

Definitely a few songs that have your not-so-typical Tallica sound to it....some good and some not so good. Some of it sounded a little old school Tallica too, which I loved.

I have only listened to it all the way thru a couple times so maybe I will like it more once I've heard it a few times....

Opinions?

I prefer Linkin Park.

And Guns-N-Roses when I was a younger chap.

I think it is decent, not great. Like Linkin park better...

No problem, just funnin' witcha!

I very much enjoy it, and have really missed new Metallica. It gets a banal at the end, they seemed to have just ran out of great songs and needed more time to fill, but true to Metallica style, they put that crap at the end so you can just quit listening after the first 7 or 8 tracks.

Oh, and I dont like Linkin Park much. Its impossible to listen to that cd more than once a month, the songs just grate on your nerves if listened to too much.

On the subject of music, I recently rediscovered Cake. Busted out some old cds in an old case, and wow I have forgotten how refreshing that sound is. If you have forgotten the band of "The Distance" and "Short Skirt/Long Jacket" fame, I encourage you to download some songs.

Oh, I DISAGRE!!! I still listen to Linkin Park's 1st cd and love it.

I have only heard the track on the radio, I heard some people critize the sound of that particular track (ex. Lars banging on trash can lids, no bass, etc.) - who is the producer of St. Anger?? and does all the songs sound (quality wise) like the radio track??

Gotta agree with bigolhawg, I like Linkin Park, but too much of it will wear on your nerves.... :bang:

- Frantic
- All Within My Hands
- Sweet Amber

Haven't had a chance to listen to all the rest just yet.

My favs are by far All Within My Hands and St. Anger.
