On the contrary, the prom story made it to such outlets as CNN, FoxNews, MTV, and even the BBC. I wasn't comparing the two events directly, not comparing someone getting beat up to a private segregated party, I was comparing them as to how much news coverage it would have received. The Georgia story was known nationwide, but it was gone after a couple weeks -- I think the same thing would have happened with the situation Motown gave. Both involve race and have negative implications to blacks in society, and although one is definitely WORSE then the other (a child getting beat up) I doubt the news coverage would have been much different. That's what I'm trying to say.


And it does kill me when a group of kids completely block out another group simply because of race. I know every race does it, and those that block out white kids SHOULD receive coverage as well, just like the georgia incident, because its the same exact thing.

So you are against someone's right to associate with whomever they choose and if it happens to be JUST the same race or sex, then the press should be notified? Man, what country do you live in? I happen to like freedom here.

I believe that simply ignoring an occurrence where racial discrimination is present doesn't help to get rid of it. Once again, you put words in my mouth. (could you STOP doing that?) I'm not AGAINST someone's right to associate. They can still HAVE the right to do it, I just think people should know about it when it happens.

But there are Black people that like country and White people that like rap. The point is individuals shouldn't pick and choose who attends what party. If a group of people say were going to have a gathering and ONLY one type of people are allowed to attend, then there is something wrong with that.
